    COMPLAINT
    To whom it may concern:

I went into your Bury branch at the Millgate Centre in Bury yesterday to have a look at upgrading my phone from a very old and small phone. I explained to the assistant that I like small phones because I only have small hands and also because I have arthritis in my hands, so needed something like an A3 which my friend had.

He advised me that you do not sell the older version of the A3, just the 2016 model and I asked if any of the other stores had any in stock, to which he said there were none. I know that there is not much difference in the size (the newer mobel being a lot taller), but I was hesitant because I didnt want my wrist hurting, but decided to purchase it as he said it is probably because I have had such a small phone for so long, it is just getting used to it.

This was bought on an upgrade with EE £25.99 pm. However, after using it last night, my wrist and hands were hurting from holding the phone. I therefore went to the Bolton branch on Manchester Road today and they DO have an older model of the A3 in stock, therefore, the assistant that sold me the phone yesterday, mis-sold me. I tried to exchange it, but it would not allow the assistant to do so. So I went to the store in Bury and was told because I went on an upgrade and there was a £50 cashback on my account and the older model didnt have this, they could not exhange or return!! The older version of the A3 is a lot lighter and smaller.

The Assistant Manager is not in the store at Bury until Monday and the Manager is not in the store until Tuesday. However, I work all week, nowhere near the store and so can only go at weekend and trying to get through to your store is disgraceful. Nothing connects. You choose the options and then it rings and then goes to a fax line, next time, you just get music and no-pne ever answers, and the assistant in Bury said that a lot of people have gone into the store and complained that they cannot get through, so I cant see how I can get this resolved if I cant see the Manager.

I since found out with the conversation today that the chappie that sold me the phone, was the Assistant Manager, so if an Assstant Manager is going to mis-sell me, I doubt I will be able to get this resolved:?

I only went to the Carphone Warehouse because I was recommended by my friend as she got a really good phone and deal, but the recommendation was not for all obviously. I was not told that there was not a returns or exchange policy, I was told there were no older models of the A3 in any store, which there obviously was. I was under the assumption that you had 14 days to return of not happy. So now, I have not only been mis-sold a phone, but now I cant use it as it is too tall and heavy for my hands.

I dont understand what the £50 cashback deal has to do with me swapping my phone if I am going to be on the same contract amount.

If this is not resolved, I will be posting a blog online not to recommend this company and make others aware that you do not give refunds and exhanges unless you are on a new contract, as I am sure not a lot of people will know this.

    Regards

    Huawei P8 Lite purchased 28/06/2016 invoice#224681746
The above phone is advertised clearly in all your stores at £79.99+£10EE
Sim card. Yet at the checkout I was charged £89.99+£10.00 .Can you explain to me why this has happened and how I go about receiving a £10 refund for overcharging. I am taking this up with you before going to Trading Standards. I hope this is a genuine error on the part of CPW.

Hi, I visited carphone warehouse in Chelenham today to get an upgrade on my existing phone. Everything was moving smoothly along, I’d chosen a phone, paid off my exsisting contract and sorted insurance. However, the assistant dealing with my order was blocked from completing it due to an old transaction form 3 years previously that had not been closed.

This took place at a Carphone Warehouse in Cheltenham that is now closed (Transaction number 296842726, Branch 367). My upgrade could not be completed until the old transaction had been closed. Your shop assistant, I think his name was Jake, spent well over an hour phoning your I.T department who were less than Helpful. Twice they put the phone down on Jake, who had been very patient. They asked him to contact the original branch to close the account, this clearly was impossible as it is now closed. They even asked him to send an email, which he did, to confirm the situation in writing.

Sitting there watching and listening to the conversation and the ridiculous ‘Hoops’ the I.T department were asking Jake to go through made me quite angry. There were other customers in the shop who were all waiting due to this farce and I honestly felt sorry for Jake.

Either your I.T department haven’t got a clue or they were deliberatly disruptive.
