I went into carphone warehouse in bury st Edmunds, suffolk on Monday 16th February 2015. I changed my phone over bought a iPhone 5s I was served by a gentleman called James..
I would like to say he was the most helpful man I have dealt with, very polite, helpful, explained things, not pushy and patience of a saint (he needed it with someone like me who doesn’t understand technology) I managed to lose all my contacts he managed to get them all back for me.
I hope this goes to your main person at head office and they give James a big pat on the back and well done.
He’s a credit to your company

    Many thanks

My wife and I visited carphone warehouse in Aberystwyth to upgrade her mobile phone and was served by the most self important person who was both rude and obnoxious to my wife and myself his attitude was “give me your money don’t ask questions and bugger off” his name tag said assistant manager, hence we will not be visiting this store soon in a hurry!!

I hope this gets to the main person at head office i:e Andrew Harrison CEO

parents beware,if you have a sick child do not use these people

In February I changed my phone , to a Samsung galaxy ace 3, not realizing this was an old outdated phone. My iPhone 4s disappeared into the bowels of the shop in a flash. I informed staff in the Hereford shop that I needed my phone to
    1. Be able to access emergency services/doctors/hospitals for my son who is in renal failure.
    2. Be able to communicate to my Samsung tablet.

I required a change in network as I was on Vodafone which has terrible reception where I live. The staff stated they had checked the network and it was a good area, recommending O2. I also purchased the geek squad package, and accessory package.
Within a week I was experiencing difficulties with the phone. When trying to make calls I would get on screen a message saying not registered on network and occasionally no mobile network available. I returned to the shop, which is an hour away, and had to become very indignant before staff would ring the sales team to authorize a change in handset. They said we would have to deal with the network.
Phone number 2: same issues. Returned to shop a fortnight later. They would not change the phone but instead put an app on it called TuGO. Which makes no difference. I have had to use this phone for an emergency call regarding my son and guess what? Not Registered on Network. Have just rung car phone warehouse, talking to a lady in South Africa. She cannot understand our location as she’s not even in the country but she can’t contact anyone directly to sort this issue in under 48 hours. I’m awaiting a call back. I’m disgusted that a company this size cannot sort this immediately. The RAC, the local water board, the school, and the electricity company all have us on a red flag system whereby our son receives immediate assistance in the case of breakdown, and amenities supply issues. By the way the phone will not communicate with the pad and the accessories didn’t fit the phone!!!! Thank you car phone warehouse for your assistance.

After ordering my phone online 3 days ago, it has not been up and running as yet…..Absolutely Disgusting! My sim was left out of the parcel, been disabled, l had to have hubby go pick up another sim from in store. with the password l was given, he got there, and they then wanted my debit card, so he had to trek all the way home, to go back. Finally he got the sim card, and registered it. Nope…Won’t send txt. Rang EE, no its a problem to do with the original sim been missing…..Rang Carphone Warehouse, not its a problem with EE, we will try and sort it. Ok sorted but can take up to 24 hours, but usually sorted within the hour. Still not sorted, will have to wait and see if anythings done today. What makes it so not funny is l am now housebound, as been disabled, l can’t be without my phone. Very Funny Carphone. Well guess what……If it isn’t sorted by tomorrow, come monday morning, l’m ringing my solicitor, as l know for certain that by buying online l’m protected by The selling Distance Regulation. Oh and one more thing, I was told that l could take the phone back to the shop and be issued another phone, but that l would have to have a brand new contract, one totally different to the one l ordered, which included a tablet, so l would lose that. This is what attracted me to the phone and carphone warehouse in the first place. What a scam!!! So others be warned, be very careful when buying from carphone warehouse.

I had the displeasure to visit your Sheffield Meadowhall site to collect a phone that was in for repair and under your warranty. The store was almost empty with most of assistants doing nothing. we was directed to the repair desk to find a customer being served, some 15mins later we went to ask one of your assistants for held as I don’t wish to die waiting in your store. We was only there to collect the repaired phone. On collection the protector glass was missing. only to be told it had been taken off during repair and as it was not one of their brand could not replace it and if we wanted to have on replaced we wold have to buy an new one. Therefore my advice to any one wising to have a mobile phone, DON’T buy one from carephone warehouse, as if it requires repair, It may not come back complete. What a shabby way to treat your customers. There’s 4 in our family with Phones Guess where we won’t be getting our next one from JK

Dear Mr CEO of carphone warehouse I visited your earl court dealer and purchased a sim card for £15.00 not a lot of money the reason for this complaint is not the loss £15.00 but because I was missled, called a liar in an indirect way since you need my money desperately and won’t compensate me for the misinformation late me quote you some fact.

As a marketing guru you are well aware what it cost ££££ to get a client into your store (my £15.00 loss is irrelevant in comparison) Now instead of being a promoter of your company’s product I am going to be a detractor my dissatisfation towards your company like (interest rate that a bank offersl ) compound by a multiple ,so my loss of £15.00 will equate to £00000000 to you. Well done and congratulations for loosing a valuable client

    Dear Sir/Madam

On Tuesday the 1st September 2015, I accompanied my mother in purchasing her upgraded phone. She was lucky to be served by the manager of the Cutty Sark Carphone Warehouse . He was a lovely young man, with fantastic customer service skills. He took the time to show my mother how to use her new phone, and transferred her phone contacts for her. He ended up staying about 15-20 minutes past closing time, and he didn’t seem to mind.
As we where getting ready to leave it began to rain. I was with my two young children, aged two and a half and eight months. I had left my pushchair plastic rain over in the car, so we were about to get drenched. The manager kindly gave us his umbrella. He said if he gets it back then great, but if not, don’t worry about it. He was so kind and sincere that I had to write a review praising him. I did return the umbrella with a hand written thank you card. He is truly a valuable member of the Carphone Warehouse company, and I am thankful to the young man who went above and beyond his duty of care.

    Kind regards Mrs Pinto

After weeks of trying to sort my mobile phone contract out i am still waiting on a resolution which your company continue to fail to deliver

I have been made numerous promises which continue to be broken. I am bitterly dissapointed with the way i have been ignored and lied to by your business.

On the top of all the issues i have experienced i am now being asked to pay for a contract and phone that i have never used. All the calls i have made are logged and ive been told my case is being investigated but after 3 times, still nothing!!!

This has been going on since the 13th of August and i am still chasing a resolution because the manager still doesnt contact me even though i am constantly told he will!!!!!

I need the contract cleared and wiped off as ive never been able to use it. I also want compensation for all the calls i am having to make on my landline and for the time, effort and embarrassment your company continue to put me through.

Carly, did you ever get this sorted. It as been 6 months now since my daughter was sent a phone that she had been declined. She was charged for 3 months rental despite having returned the phone within 14days we also had to be billed over 600 pound disconnection fee, whilst waiting for cpw to reimburse this it has since been sent to debt collectors. She is now has a bad credit reference. I am exhausted and no one even replies.

DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS from the CARPHONE WAREHOUSE.

The people working there are all a bunch of retards. Bought a simple Samsung Galaxy A3 on 26th of july 2015.
This morning out of the blue my screen turned black, phone simply stopped working.

Went to the Carphone Warehouse in Witney (where I bought the phone) and explained the situation.
The very friendly (sarcasm) store manager Katie told me that they had to send the phone to a repair centre to see what the problem is and to repair the phone.
I told Katie I don’t want to give my phone away for repair unless they can do it in the store. That was not possible according to Katie.
So I said that in that case I want a new Samsung Galaxy A3…. OR…my money back.
    Seems fair.
And according to Trading Standards I am entitled to ask for a refund or replacement when a product is faulty (within 6 months after purchase).
Katie told me that it is against Carphone Warehouse’s Policies and that they prefer to send my phone off for repair.
Once again I made clear that that is NOT what I want. ALL Katie was prepared to do was call the Customer Service department of Carphone Warehouse and speak to one of the Customer Service Advisors. As if you are talking to a comatose patient.
After 5 minutes of answering idiotic ‘security questions’ and after telling the lady on the phone that I WAS STILL IN the store she asked me the legendary question:
“Have you been to the Carphone Warehouse Store yet?”
ME: “I AM in the store RIGHT NOW”

CUSTOMER SERVICE: I hear what you are saying sir…….but first I need to ask you a couple of questions.
    ME: Okay…..fire away.

    CUSTOMER SERVICE:
    QUESTION NR.1
“Have you been to the Carphone Warehouse store yet sir?

(This is not happening……where is that camera???. This must be a joke. Ah well, perhaps she didn’t hear me the first time)
I try to stay calm and answer the question:
“I AM STILL IN THE STORE”

Anyway, I explain the story again……

    CUSTOMER SERVICE:
We will send your phone to have it repaired…….

ME: (And I am getting slightly annoyed now) ” Lady, if you can not repair my phone here, in the store, right now, then I don’t want a repair at all. Then give me a new phone OR a refund.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: “Okay, thank you. I hear what you are saying, but unfortunately our company policies say that 28 days after purchase we have to send your phone to a Repair Centre”

After some arguments back and forth I decide to give up. I am fighting a lost battle. I don’t mind having a healthy discussion…..but not with complete idiots.

I go home and decide to call Trading Standards again and also ask advice from a European Consumer Rights Organization.
    Their advice:
You ARE entitled to a refund, a replacement OR a repair when a product appears to be faulty within 6 months after purchase. And only if the fault is not caused by misuse of the product.
In my case: Carphone Warehouse sold me a shitty Samsung Galaxy A3 and since I don’t want a repair, unless while I wait, I am entitled to a refund or a replacement.
One more piece of advice Trading Standards gave me:
Be persistent and persuasive because Carphone Warehouse employees are not the brightest bulbs and they have the flexibility of a concrete block.

Armed with this information and very confident in a good result I went back to Witney. Back to the Carphone Warehouse…..

But again, a wall of stupidity and incompetency and a hostile barrier of armed concrete customer unfriendliness was waiting for me.
However: This time the tone of the Store Manager had changed…… although the message was the same.
No intelligence, no cooperation, no customer friendliness, nothing.
Katie couldn’t be moved. She keeps referring to the retarded Carphone Warehouse’s Company Policies.

While in the store I decided to talk to one of Katie’s amazing colleagues of Customer Services again. (Sarcastic)
I made some progress….I managed to speak to a member of the Legal Department.

    But another disappointment:
Even high up in the Carphone Warehouse work complete fucking idiots.
This lobotomized Down Syndrome patient tried to convince me that I HAD NO CHOICE but to accept THEIR rules.

I decide to take a break and take some time to calm down.

Another battle lost…..but not the war!

” I hear what you are saying sir”…..that is all Carphone Warehouse has to say!!! And I am pretty fed up with this bullshit attitude.

I can not and WILL NOT let go…..not even for a shitty £ 200 Samsung phone.

It is absolutely disgusting how Carphone Warehouse treats customers. I don’t see why they even have a Customer Service Department because if there is one thing that Carphone Warehouse is NOT:
    Customer Friendly.

They make and hold on to their own rules and simply ignore the UK Sales of Goods act or the European Union Sales of Goods Act. They do hear what Customers are saying but they DON’T listen.
Why? Carphone Warehouse just wants to sell shitty products. But when customers actually come back with that same shitty product Carphone Warehouse is not there.
They put you through to idiot after idiot…without getting any further.
And while waiting (and hoping and praying) I will get the chance to talk to an intelligent person it happens…..the moment they answer the phone you know it:
It is another imbecile from Carphone Warehouse.
Carphone Warehouse I think has 1 requirement to be able to work there:
You have an IQ of 65…..OR lower.

I will take matters further now. Your idiotic minions refuse to help, Fine!
Then the European Union’s Courts can take it on.

Ahah ahaha this makes me laugh so much YOURE NOT ENTITLED TO A REFUND OR A REPLACEMENT AFTER 28 days. You get a 2 year warranty for repairs and if they can’t fix it the repair centre which has qualified Samsung technicians in then they will replace it. You can’t just refuse a repair in the hopes to get a refund. Remove yourself from your high horse and respect people are doing there jobs, how is a store member supposed to do anything if they’re genuinely not allowed? She couldn’t give you a phone she’d get fired!

I AM DEEPLY UPSET AND ANNOYED WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE OF THE CARPHONE WAREHOUSE SUPPORT TEAM. MY PHONE HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIR 3 TIMES AS THE LAST ONE HAS BEEN CANCELLED. IT CAME BACK FROM REPAIR AND IMMEDIATLY SENT BACK AS IT WAS STUCK IN BOOT MODE.
I HAVE HAD THE RUN AROUND SINCE 19/11/2015 AT 13.15 TRYING TO SORT ALL OF THIS OUT ALSO SO HAS THE STORE MANAGER DAVID WHO HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL.
AFTER SPENDING A COMBINED 7 HOURS ON THE PHONE I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD HAVE A SAMSUNG GALAXY 6 + EDGE. I FINALLY SAID OK DUE TO ALL THE STRESS TO THEN BE TOLD I COULDN’T HAVE IT.
I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD HAVE ANOTHER 6 EDGE BUT IT WOULD TAKE 24 HOURS FOR COLLECTION. WHEN I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICES TO ASK ABOUT THIS I WAS TRANSFERED TO THE REPAIRS SECTION TO A GENTLEMAN NAMED YASIN WHO TOLD ME THAT THE REASON IT WAS GOING TO TAKE 24 HOURS WAS BECAUSE THEY ARE SENDING ME A REFERBISHED PHONE. SO THAT TELL ME THAT IT HAS ALREADY HAD PROBLEMS.
THIS IS A FAIRLY NEW PHONE SO SAYING ITS REFERBISHED DOES NOT SOUND GOOD.
I HAVE FOUND CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE CUSTOMER CARE TEAM VERY UNSUPPORTIVE AND SOMETIMES RUDE.
THIS WHOLE ISSUE HAS MADE MY CONDITION WORSE AND I HAVE FOUND THE WHOLE CUSTOMER SERVICE HELP TERRIBLE.
I HAVE HAD TO EXPLAIN THIS PROBLEM A TOTAL OF 37 TIMES.
I PAY £47.00 PM FOR MY PHONE I AM NOT WILLING TO PAY THAT FOR A USED PHONE.
I HAVE ALSO SPENT ABOUT 5 HOURS OF ME SORTING IT AND THE MANAGER OF THE STORE ANOTHER 3 HOURS. THIS WHOLE ISSUE HAS BEEN UNACCEPTABLE.
I WAS EVEN OFFERED A HANDSET THAT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED.
I WAS EVEN TOLD BY ONE OF YOUR CARE TEAM THAT I HAVE TO CONTACT SAMSUNG FOR THEM TO WRITE THE PHONE OFF TO GET A REPLACEMENT. I DID THIS AND I WAS INFORMED BY SAMSUNG THAT THEY HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM A LOT FROM CARPHONE WAREHOUSE INFROMING CUSTOMERS THAT THEY HAVE TO CALL SAMSUNG THEMSELVES. THIS OF COURSE IS ALL WRONG.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED CARPHONE WAREHOUSE TO ANYONE WHEN BUYING A PHONE BECAUSE OF THE SUPPORT TEAM. THE STAFF IN THE STORE 2705 WERE VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL. THE MANAGER DAVID DID ALL THAT HE COULD TO HELP.
ITS A PITY THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS NOT LIKE THAT.

Despite all the negative comments so readily shown on social networking we have nothing but praise for the shop in Brighton Western Road.
Right from the beginning we were treated with respect, never pushed to buy and despite the busiest period (days before Christmas) always had the full attention of the staff.
As virtual technophobes we appreciated the understandable way things were explained to us. We had reason to go back to the shop today as I was unable to cope with the technicality of setting up an MS mail account. We were again treated with respect and the person ( I think it was the manager of the shop) could not be more helpful and sorted things out without any quibble or resistance. We came to the easy conclusion that we could not expect this sort of service with your competitors.
    WELL DONE !!!!

On the 1-4-2016 I decide to place an order with Carphone warehouse and made the necessary online request filling out the required form, From then on I received two lots of identical emails from them including two dispatch dates, when checking the order number I see they have put this through twice so two phones were now on the way to the Blackburn store where I had to collect, On visiting the store I was confronted with a shop assistant who basically told me what I couldn’t do this included not being able to cancel one of the phones even though the person who I rang at carphone warehouse told me this is what I should do, I was also told I cant keep my old number which is absolutely wrong, then was quite rude when asked if anyone knew what they were doing, So decided to stop both phone and will definitely not be using carphone warehouse anytime in the distant future

Three months of bills, a 600 pound disconnection fee for an account she has never had and no responses when trying to get reimbursed like they said they would. She had now got a debt collection agency and a bad credit reference. And no one st CPW gives a s..t. How can you treat people like this??

I have tried to contact the bridges Sunderland branch 3 times in the last 2 days ,I waited for 5 minutes each time only to told to phone back later due to high volume of calls , one or two times maybe but hanging about 3 times waiting for someone to answer is in my opinion a really poor way to run a branch /business , and I WAS going to enquire about upgrading my phone ! I don’t feel very good about contacting head office as when I took out contract in same store staff I spoke to were very helpful, however goodwill only goes so far . Mr Derek Green

I gave my phone in for repair on the 2/08 at Loughborough regents retail park and went in to collect it today on the 14/08. I went abroad on the 3rd and needed a spare phone as there was a manufacturing fault with my HTC one m8 – they gave me a crap Alcatel Pixi without the correct sim card adapter (I have a nano sim) even though I queried with the store “manager” Irshad that it will have the correct adapter. When I went in today my phone was repaired in terms of the manufacturing fault however it now all of a sudden has a dent on it which was not there when I handed the phone in as I ALWAYS have a case on the phone and I have noticed the phone feels fatter than before as if the case has been played around with. I told Irshad the manager of this as soon as I noticed and he had the audacity to ask ” are you sure it wasn’t there before?” I am 100% sure there was no dents on the phone whatsoever before I handed it in. He then claimed I need to send the phone in back for repair so they can compare the phone to the pictures they would have took before the repair – this process is time consuming and inefficient since if pictures were taken surely the manager of a branch should be able to compare what’s right in front of him and pictures that were taken – instead of being told the phone may take another 28 days to be returned back to the store.

I went into carphone warehouse in Exeter on 8th Oct 2016 having visited my local Vodafone store in Yeovil who I’d use for many years only to be greeted by staff who were lacklustre and didn’t appear interested in my sale. Carphone on the other hand couldn’t do enough. The staff were knowledgeable, approachable and seemed to have a good team ethos. Having been dealt with initially by Jon I needed to go away and think about the plan offered. Returned 1/2 hr later to proceed with upgrade, Jon was busy and after brief discussion with his colleague (Ian) I completed my upgrade. Technical dept successfully transferred all data across to my new phone and was given a quick tutorial by the Sony representative who was in the branch to advise staff on new Sony Experia XZ. Wished I’d used Carphone sooner. Thank you Jon & Ian and Sony Rep.
    Kind Regards
    Jo

    Hi!
I am writing because I would love to thank ufficially the whole team of CW Tottenham Court Road in London because they have been great and extremely helpful in dealing with the note 7 issue. In particular, Sana who promptly finalized the return procedure.
    Thank you heaps!!!

I’m am incredibly disgusted by the level of customer service this company offers. I sent my phone in to be repaired and was told it would be 2-3weeks (I only had the phone for 2 and a half weeks). I tried to find out the progress of my phone after 3weeks only to be told no one knew where it was! I was told to return in 72hours. 72hours later and I went back and was told my phone was lost. Repairs blamed the store the store blamed repairs and while blaming each other no one took into consideration the major inconvenience of me the customer having to wait longer for a phone. Nearly two weeks later and multiple calls and emails asking for answers I was finally told that repairs had it all along and couldn’t even fix my phone and instead are sending a replacement.

All I have asked for is respect understanding and a sincere apology instead I keep getting a copy and pasted stereotypical lame excuse for an apology. I also asked for compensation for the fact that for two weeks I had to keep traveling back and forth to the store to find out where my phone was because when I rang repairs they would fob me off to another department or just tell me they have no answers.

This company is a disgrace and do not care about their customers even when they have spent hundreds of pounds on their products and that to me is a disgrace as they do not care about people’s consumer rights of which several were broken when it came to my case.

Visited your Walton on Thames store tonight to collect a delivery from Curry’s. Two people in front of me. 40 min. later I was still waiting. A man from a local shop came in and your staff attended to him straight away leaving me and the 5 customers after me in limbo. I complained to the manager but he took no notice. 5 min. Later he decided to serve me only for me to find out my delivery was not there or so he said.
If anybody asked me about the carphone warehouse I would recommend they steal clear and go somewhere that has customer service.
