Tried to pay my Debenhams statement in store at the Ellesmere Port coliseum store.
My first statement after signing up for their credit card. Was paying by cheque, and decided to pay in store rather than mail it. Cheque done, filled in as requested on the statement info. Was told they did not accept cheques, I pointed out that the statement indicated one could, and indeed gave instructions how and who to make the cheque too. No joy. Paid by direst debit in the end. What a waste of my time. Was told no one uses cheques now,
. Not up to date are they on their info. I receive and use cheques Constantly. When they were trying to do away with cheques it did not happen. Keep abreast with what is happening. Oh and by the way I won’t be using the card again .

They do take cheques by post, just not in store, but otherwise you can pay by debit card or cash, direct debit or standing order, over the phone or online, or in your bank or post office. There are plenty of other options readily available.

I live in Cyprus and rarely visit the UK, but last week I was staying with my daughter in Southsea. I visited your branch in Palmerston Rd. and wished to enquire about a suitcase on your Tripp concession. No staff member for Tripp was present so I asked one of your employees if he could assist me. He was extremely helpful and polite and I ended up purchasing a suitcase. His name is IFTE and I do hope that someone in authority will contact him and tell him what a good job he did. He is a credit to your company. Well done!

    Dear sir
I’m writing to you regarding my experience I had on the 28 November in the debenhams branch at the high cross shopping centre Leicester.
I was browsing in the toys department When I picked up a scalextric retailing at £90 which was reduced to £45 then subsequently reduced again to only £15 which did sound obsense but it was black friday weekend. I continue my shopping then made my way to the checkout. The cashier who served me was very polite & pleasant but unfortunately informed me that the sales ticket on the afore mention scalextric was incorrect. I then point out that the item was clear mark & labeled with the price of £15.00 pounds and that the store must onor this. The cashier informed me that this was out of her remit so I requested to see the store manager.
The store manager did arrive after some time & then went away to check similar items on the next floor which could have been easily achieved in under 5 minutes. It was then apparent that the manager was hoping we would get bored and leave. When the manager did finally arrive back my perseption of her attitude was on the boarder line of being rude. After several minutes past another senior college arrived to assisted her. His option was of the situation was boarder line slander & just about ocused me of changing the labels Myself. My point is it’s the retails responsibility to asure that all items are all labeled correctly & I do not except the ridiculous statement made that the label had fell off of another team as the sales label was securely fix in two places. Unfortunately for debenhams they lost at least a £100 transactions yesterday but in the long term a lot more.
I carried out the rest of my shopping in the high cross shopping centre & I managed to get the item at John Lewis. They seam to offer a much higher quality service. As the saying goes you pay for what you get so it might be a little more expensive in John Lewis but in return a more favourable shopping experience. O yes and as for the scalextric I picked the same item in the shopping centre for £29.00. I also work for a multi national retailer myself & no that this industry can be very challenging at times but this experience at debenhams yesterday was disgraceful.
    Yours faithfully miss L foster

On Thursday the 3rd December.my husband ordered an electric blanket in store at Llandudno. The lady said we could collect it on Friday. We drove 11 miles to be told “sorry it isn’t here” then we were told it would be in on Saturday. We drove 11 miles again to Llandudno. You guessed it. It wasn’t there. A very nice young man informed us that it may come in soon. When the trolley came he searched it throughly. He spent 8 minutes on the telephone to try and track it.. We gave him our contact details and left.he has promised to ring us when it comes in. He apologised on your behalf!
Not really good service that is it.? Oh the young man was polite and helpful, he tried his best to find it. Wish all your staff were as good as him.

Only to be told I had them to long I do not feel less than 6 months for trainers that are not worn all the time to be satisfactory.I then contacted Sketchers who have advised me to contact Debenhams head office as the contract of sale is with you. I would like to bring to your attention the disgraceful Customer Service I experienced recently in the Harrow Branch. I brought an item back with my receipt and explained that this was a gift I had bought for someone in Manchester and I had only managed to get your the item back to London. This meant that a few days had run past the 28 day return policy but I asked that due to this item being some distance away there was a delay in me receiving it back and could there be some goodwill involved as it was only a difference of 11 days. I spoke to three Managers at Harrow who would not give me my money back and whose attitude’s I found rude. They said take it to Customer Service if you want but it’s ultimately our decision so that won’t change anything. I spoke to Customer Service who advised that they did not have any authority to refund my payment and to contact head office customer service, which I did three times I was advised the matter had been referred to Harrow Branch to reconsider. This was over a week ago and Harrow have never contacted me. I have copies of all correspondence and have also sent these today for the attention of Debenhsms Managing Director. I am sure they would be very interested to see how customers are being treated. I foe one would not shop in Debenhsms again a very poor retail experience.

I am a regular shopper at Debenhams for gifts and clothing but I’m definitely rethinking that after today can someone please contact me as I don’t think this is good customer service at all . My husband and I have been Debenham Gold card store holders for many years and have enjoyed discounts on purchases. In January we were sent new cards (with a different account number) and told to destroy the existing ones. I used the new card for the first time and have received my account for payment showing no discount. I have called the 0333 number to query this and after two long calls and one call to a completely wrong number by your customer services, I was promised a call back when they promised the would find out if any mistake had been made – I am still awaiting the call!! I have noticed the new card you have sent me ia an Arcadia Privilege card (what are the privileges!!). All I want to know is have your Debenham gold cards been replaced. If no discount is now applicable, I feel we should have been advised and not just told to destroy the old cards. Your response would be appreciated.

    Without Prejudice
I wish to speak to the store manager at Debenhams Colchester, I did yesterday speak to a lady called Emily Young who assured me she would get back to me and she has not.
This is about shoes that I purchased on the 20th April 2016 and it concerns my statutory rights under the sale of goods act 1979.
My telephone number is 01206 393344.
To avoid any further actions on my part at present, I would be obliged if you would call me asap. I believe what has been written on my receipt is unlawful and I will speak to the appropriate organisations or revisit the store personally to speak to a manager.
    Yours Faithfully

Will you care?????? No not a bit

I went to make a purchase at your store in Wimbledon today, all was well until the corner of your glass shelves in the handbag department caught my right arm badly. I reported it to one of your staff and I felt that she wasn’t bothered. Although the bruise haven’t shown up yet but it will do in the next day or two. The reason I felt to report this to you, anybody who is shorter than me, could have cause more injury

Thankfully everything was Ok would just like to say a massive thanks to the member of your staff that helped.
