Halfords was founded in 1892 as a wholesale ironmongery by Frederick Rushbrooke in Birmingham. In 1902 a store was opened on Halford street in Leicester after which the company’s name was kept and it started selling cycling goods. Today the company operates over 460 retail stores out of which 430 are superstores and around 30 are high street stores. The Autocentres are operated through more than 280 centres and the retail website covers over 30,000 SKUs and the autocentres website offers booking and location tools. Dennis Millard is the chairman and Matt Davies is the CEO of the company.

    Halfords is a joke they sell petrol resistant laquer which i put 4 layers on my fuel tank. i took weeks doing my bike making it perfect. i finally assemble it and my fuel tank is ruined due to halfords poor quality. i will be seeking legal advice on this matter.

    Dear sirs.

    I must contact you with regards to my experience at your store in Bescot,Walsall.
    I visited your store on Monday 28th December, I spoke to a Lady who was on the till at the time, I asked her if there was someone who could have a look at my wing mirror on the driver side, she said she could help.
    We went outside to my vehicle, I explained I need a new mirror because someone had stolen mine. She had a quick look and said ” sorry we can’t help”, I would need to go to a scrap yard or to Renault to get it fixed, and then turned around and walked off. If she wasn;t sure she could have asked a colleague. I then went to elsewhere, where the gentleman said all I needed was a mirror and a back plate, then proceeded to fix it for me. I am not sure why she didn’t seem interested, Perhaps she need some training on customer service. This has certainly put me off visiting again to this store or any other Halfords store if this is the kind of service that is if offered. I await your comments with interest. Mrs stott

      Worked at halfords for a wile till some one I was working with got a tip so they search me on shop flore were everyone was always finishe 30 to 50 60 minits late everyday left there they haven’t payed me my money been months now rang Dave tx him his ment to be boss ther he couldn’t even tx me back and they say it’s ment to be one of the best places to work not at Charlton.it ant

    Charlton halfords was not a good place to work a girl called joe search me on shop flore were customers were because she sead I got a tip I had no money on me I was late home every day over hour some days didn’t ever get payed for the hours over time mess your wages up don’t give me my wage slips still haven’t payed me now I’ve left been months I’ve rang and text still waiting so David can you pay me and can I have pay slips like I asked they want you there 15 minits before you start wort I come in on time they say I’m late need to be there 15 minits before I start and want to be funny power gone to ther heads ther no one can say they want to stay late because they will say you no this job you don’t like it you no what you can do so that’s what I did I left

    Their motto is “That’s helpful,that’s Halfords. To say it was a joke would be an understatement,their so called bike mechanics are useless their deadline dates are beyond any calendar, and their staff are rude and basically ignorant of other people’s feelings an needs. I intend to write to their CEO and if I do not get satisfaction from her then I will seek legal action.

    I too have had a bad experience with Halfords in Sheldon, an absolute shambles of service, I ordered a bike wheel to be told it will be there in 5 days, it took seven and when I did go to get it, it took them 15 mins to find it and then was told its the wrong one, and blamed the company that they ordered it from. I had my money back and went to red kite cycles in Shirley now this is a company that has great staff and fall over themselves to help you, the waiting time for my wheel with them is 2 days guaranteed. somebody in power in Halfords needs to do a complete overhaul of services they offer and staff training.

    I cannot belive you still employee the chimps you do in your stores! I needed a simple bike part which I know was on the shelf but even with a part number and description your staff just stood there looking blank at my fiancee then tried to give her the wrong part then when she rang me your staff tried to tell me the part I need is specific to my bike and would have to be ordered in, all I was after was a headset top cap! Why don’t you try employing people that ride bikes or at the very least know what a bike is. Also your website is a joke! Try to go on there and can’t look at anything due to the drop menu staying dropped over products, I assume your web designer went on the standard halfords training course on how not to helpful. It reasons like these that give your staff a bad name and why nobody with a half decent bike will use you. Halford make it hard work for simple tasks so i’ll just stick with google and ebay from now on failing that the local circus clowns will prove more useful than my local halfords store!

    Please contact me on 07415838619 or via email regarding video footage of your store closure at Streatham road London. No security present, (although you are paying for it). I contacted police regarding travelling people’s moving in and taking over your store land and also because the shutters were open whilst the store was full of stock and again no security present. I have taken video footage that i can show to you. The mess these people have left next to a local primary school and residents is akin to a third world refuse dump! I do not hold Halfords responsible for this, but wish to bring it to your attention due to the matter of bad press and health, hygiene and public safety. Regards.

    Don’t bother going to NUTHALL ROAD NOTTINGHAM because they are totally useless. First ask about trailers,they don’t sale them,goes home orders one on line to be delivered to that STORE THAT DOESN’T SALE THEM. Gets email to say when to pick it up time & date, goes in to the STORE & they don’t know anything about it, LUCY rings head office & they tell her its been delivered & sign for, but LUCY said no one sign, she then gets on the phone to ILKESTON NOTTS & they have one in, so had to wait again & go back to the STORE again, the box it was in all ripped & just hanging on, I asked if it was all there LUCY reply I have checked it all, I said are you sure,reply yes again. Gets it home & yes you guess it A PANEL WAS MISSING, so rings LUCY up & she said I pick it up tomorrow, but never asked what side & i felt like she knew, no apology,asked her to fit it free for all the shit I had been through, reply I can’t but before she said she knows how to fit them but it cost £24. Rings HEAD OFFICE what a Croc of shit is was, he replied what do you want me to do. I WANT WHAT I ORDERED A BLOODY TRAILER & for all the shit I have been through & 5 times to the store that doesn’t know what they sale, his reply I can’t. SO DON’T GO TO HALFORDS AS THEY DON’T HAVE A CLUE. If you want a job there & got no experience & want to get paid for just sitting down & telling customers they don’t sale it then that’s the job for you. MY BIRTHDAY WEEK END TRULY MESSED UP.     Dear Sir/Madam,

    I have been trying to contact your Farnham, Halford Branch by telephone for a couple of days. Without success.

    I arrange a few days ago to have a Car Cam fitted tomorrow Friday 14th Oct 2016 but will have to cancel the appointment. I therefore just as matter courtesy wish to advise them. Perhaps you will be able to be successful.

    I will next week some time visit them again to make ano appointment.

    Do not recommend working for Halfords. My partner has been working at halfords for over 6 months, has been short staffed, overworked and not had a day off at all for the past 12 days including weekends and not looking too hopeful that he will get one in the next few days.
    No support at all.

    I received a bike from halfords mansfield back in February this year and after taking it in for repairs 17 times within the first 3 months it was replaced after being told it was faulty and needed replacing, the 2nd bike was faulty and needed replacing after only 6 week, the 3rd bike I received failed within the first 24 hours and was deemed unsafe by another halfords store and a bike technician and a local shop…once I asked for this matter to be resolved, I was then told I can’t have the bike back and will receive a refund, I didnt want this option but was told that it’s not my choice, I have now been to a few local papers and radio and are all very interested in covering the story
