    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am frequent customer to IKEA and a great fancy of their quality and service.

Since almost 1 year, me and my wife bought a 2 seat sofa and 1 lay down piece. Both white leather, and they were delivered on the same date, fixed on the same position and attached together on the same place by IKEA installer.

Since I bought theses sofas, I noticed that the 2 seats white color leather has been/still changing in color to orange/beige color.

Apparently, the problem lies in having the 2 seats leather absorbing the surrounding wall paint color and/ or warm light color. While the 1 lay down piece leather is not absorbing and surrounding colors, and that is how it should be as per IKEA quality standards and any customer’s expectations.

Yesterday 12/9 /2015, IKEA Kuwait has refused to do anything to my compliant, claiming that having such change in color dose not constitute a damage to my sofas!

I am surprised from IKEA Kuwait negligent and unacceptable action towards their obligation to IKEA customers. I explained to them the defect in the leather itself which is a factory problem and a series solution need to be taken to maintain IKEA reputation (Every time a visitors come to our home, we got criticized for our sofa’s colors, and when I inform my guests that these sofas are from IKEA, they got surprised and blame me for accepting to keep patient with such embarrassing sofas!).

Please do assist me in having IKEA Kuwait to react professionally and responsibly towards my problem and to safeguard IKEA reputation for having the best quality standards and Customer satisfaction.

Await your kind feedback and assistance.

    Best Regards,

    Dear Sir.
I do hope I have the right department to address an issue that I have we Ikea. Its not a complaint just an observation.
I have many pieces of Ikea furniture that sit very well in my home.
However there is one piece of furniture that I really love and need in my home to make it a beautiful comfortable space, but can not buy it it any uk Ikea stores. They sell this particular item in Ireland and Italy. I have made contact with them but they say the item can not be shipped, that I would have to visit these countries and buy them which seems a bit far fetched.
So my question is how can i get this very needed item without have to travel a 1000 miles to get it?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    King regards.
    Daniella Dyer.

      Dear sir/madam,
I wonder why the 1mx0.6m table top in oak colour has been discontinued. I furnish bedrooms with IKEA oak colour and the 1mx0.6m table top in oak colour is the perfect size for my bedrooms. Since April 2017 this has been discontinued. I was told that it will be improved and come to the market in April 17, but that is not the case.
The size you have available, 1.2mx0.6m is just too big some small bedrooms. So I am not able to use it. You have the 1mx0.6m in back or white coulours but this does not match the rest of the furniture, and it looks out of place. So, now we are in a difficult situation where we need to look for different supplies if IKEA cannot supply the 1mx0.6m oak table.

I wonder, Why this item has been discontinued? when is coming back? If this is not coming back, then, could you give the name of the supplier, as I guess it takes the same effort to cut a 1.2m or a 1m table. Finally, if htis is not possible, could you offer suggestions as to how to cut the 1.2m table top and make it good, so that I can reduce the size to something that would fit my bedrooms

We were told that our gift card would be in the email 3 weeks ago and still nothing. My wife and I came into the Orlando store in the beginning of November to pick up over $1000 worth of merchandise to finish our remodel of one of our rooms. When we got home one item had a huge gash on the top of the table and another item was totally the wrong color then what we told the guy to load.

As you can imagine this has been very frustrating with having to not hear from anyone and having been told we would receive our $100 gift card and then nothing. We have called numerous times to sit on hold and the customer service experience is just awful. If this is the way we are to be treated as customers then I will have to say that my wife and I, along with some family and friends will not return. It is just unacceptable this whole experience.

If you would like to contact me about this I will personally take time out of my day and stop what I am doing to talk to you about getting this corrected. I am sure this is all a big misunderstanding. I will leave my number below and whether I am at work or spending time with my family I will do my best to take our call.

Hi, In December we bought our Christmas Tree from you and were delighted with the offer that gave us a voucher to spend £20 in store at a later date. Last night we visited one of your stores and bought a rug, four cushion covers and two cushions. Unfortunately the colour of rug did not work with the room we had bought it for. Tonight we returned to the store and asked to exchange it for a more suitable colour, same rug, same price just different colour. We were told that we could not exchange it and that we would be given a refund to go and buy the other rug. This would have been fine but we were told that we could only have the price of the rug minus the discount that had been taken off to honour the voucher. This would have meant that we would have been given £21 refund and have to pay another £14 ( the full price of the rug being £35 ) just because we wanted a different colour. We came away from the store with a refund of £21 and did not buy another rug. This now means that you have only honoured £6 of the £20 that you pledged to give us to spend in store if we bought our Christmas Tree from you. We think that your policy is totally unfair and request vouchers to the value of £14, thereby honouring your pledge to give us £20 to spend in store if we bought our Christmas Tree from you. We really cannot understand why an exchange could not have been made. It made for a very unpleasant time in Returns with your staff adamant that they were only following your policy and embarrassing us by implying that we were trying to get a refund for the full amount of the rug. We did not want a refund we wanted to exchange one coloured rug for another. It was also embarrassing for my husband who was accused of shouting. Yes he was annoyed because the member of staff could not see his point that we didn’t want a refund and yes his voice is raised as he has a hearing impediment. The member of staff also made a point of saying that we got a Christmas Tree for £5, which we did not. We got a Christmas Tree for £25 and in return we have received £6 in discount on items we have bought from you since. Very disappointed indeed. I look forward to your reply. Regards Julie Jones

I am currently experiencing the worst service I can remember from IKEA, no person cares, I am just the poor customer who has paid his money and now I am left frustrated and exhausted, as at the time I write this note, I am still waiting for replacement items that were promised today and have still not turned up. All I get from customer service is, your delivery is out for today, they have uplifted the wrong items but was told that for delivery it is another driver, Parcel Force just tell me that it is in their hub location, what good is that. Considering the thousands of pounds myself and family have spent with IKEA over the years this is certainly leaving me with doubt if I will ever use IKEA ever again, maybe just maybe SOMEONE who cares could get in contact with me to address my case, the case number is: 12996319

We are raising money for the https://www.gofundme.com/cheerforcharlie

Charlie is a little 9 year old boy from Morley who sadly on the 2nd of December 2015 was diagnosed with a High Grade B Cell Lymphoma, cancer of his white blood cells, and has spent everyday in hospital since.

He is a local little boy who is in my daughters class at school.

I personally am organising a fundraiser, which will include a raffle and I am currently looking for raffle prizes which I can use to help raise funds for the ‘Cheer for Charlie’ appeal.

The person behind the campaign, Natalie Scully is running the Liverpool half marathon in May to raise funds and the gofundme has already raised over £700.

We would be hugely grateful for any donation that your company is able to make to help support our fundraising efforts. All donations will be acknowledged and an email will be sent after the event providing information of how much we raised and an acknowledgement from ourselfs and Charlie’s family. We may be getting local media coverage on this appeal, and if this happens, where possible, we will mention your Company supporting us.

If you require any further information please do not hesitate to get back to me.

    Kind regards,

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our email

I have to complain about your customer call centre on its lack of staff and response times to incoming calls Today 01/03/2016 I attempted to contact your customer service department to report a faulty freezer which is still in warranty until July of this year at the rate of response and after 3 aborted telephone calls (the duration of these wasted calls in time and money approx 1 1/2 hrs .) I have given up and feel that by the time my call is answered the guarentee will have elapsed if it is possible to make contact with me regarding this issue I can be contacted on 07849 799429 yours sincerely John Stringer

In the big scheeme of things…and all the drama facing us re EU decisions, this may seem to you a daft request – but here goes! I have a cheap (BUT EXCELLENT ) sewing maching that I got from Ikea. It’s fab for all the things I wish to do but recently I became interested in ‘free -motion’ embroidery and for that you have to ‘drop the dogs’. It won’t allow me to do it so I suppose I need a plate to cover them. As it’s not a brand of machine that everyone knows I don’t know what to do. Rang the Ikea people and they are no help. IS THERE HELP OUT THERE???

    thank you,

Dear IKEA, I am British but live in Bodrum, turkey and due to a house fire in my brand newly built house that killed two of my cats am currently trying to re make a kitchen for myself. Due to the fire money is short and I have been buying cabinets from yourself and making it myself. I am writing to complain about the standard of service at th statite office in Bodrum. I ordered and clearly stated I wanted two cabinets the other day and a corner unit, instead I got 4 cabinets and a corner unit. As I was building them I though one of the extra units was part of the corner cupboard so built in and I have accepted my mistake and have made use of the extra cupboard. I did, however, return the 4th unit and explained to the staff of their mistake. The man helped me re order some missing parts for the extra cupboards and some extra bits i needed and I went back to the service desk and returned the extra unit. I again Collected the extra items I needed yesterday and on sorting them out today have found he’s re ordered the exact same item I had told him I was returning so I’ve now got an extra unit AGAIN !! He’s also ordered the wrong hinges for the doors and I’m missing a set of hinges totally. I’ve attempted to make my complains locally but they seem to be falling onto deaf ears and i would appreciate this be passed to the correct department to look into. I’ve now been without a kitchen for over 4 months and would like to get some normality back I my life. Due to the fire I have very little funds which are currently being unnecessaryily wasted on trips back and forth to IKEA and for refunds onto my British credit card. I am already having to wait a further 2 months for deep drawers and skirting boards to finish the kitchen as the main branch in Izmir doesn’t have any and they aren’t allowed to order any items from Istanbul. Any assistance in getting this matter brought to someone’s attention and help on sorting out the problems would be much appreciated. Kind regards

Its with a sad heart that I am making this complaint. I have shopped at your store since it opened many many years ago and have taken pleasure in the whole experience of Ikea.

I was at the till waiting to be served when i started to come out in hives and felt most unwell. By the time i had exited the store my bottom lip had swollen so much i thought it was going to burst.

I could not breath and started to choke, i tried to ask the cashier assistant to help me but she just sat there and did not offer any help? I was gasping for help.

I ran over to the water counter and stood at the till where they serve hot dogs, i had to push into the queue to offer money for the water i desperately needed to drink to stop my choking. But again no help from the lady serving.

I managed to get some water and eventually left the store. I then obtained antihistamines.

The cause of this anaphylactic shock was because of the smell near the till- it was overwhelming with some kind scented candle smells. It was just over powering the person behind me was also complaining of the smell.

I feel very let down when clearly i needed help from two customer service tills and could not get it. And the fact this happened in the first place.

I would of expected A first aider to be called and this did not happen.

    Please see image attached.

    I await your response.

    Very sad loyal customer

For several years I have had one of your bedside lamps – which has been well worth the money and great value – however, it recently started to flicker and went out —- the AC adaptor is model number ABN542242 — the lamp number being TYP B0301 K0rsby – Ikea 17999. Whilst I realise it is an old lamp I would like it to work again —— could you please let me know if you have a repair unit that could look at it or recommend someone who could take a look.
    Thanking you.

The furniture made by you is excellent. Hats off to the quantity. The instruction booklet is nicely planned, so that, even a lay man can assemble it.

We recently purchased 2 beds model Malam. The cross sliding strips #117228 are having holes instead of tapped holes as we find it extremely difficult to fix the provided screws #117337. Firstly we thought it was wrong supply, so we requested to supply the proper items. And we were supplied the same items again.

My suggestion to you is, to supply M 3.5 x 16 mm long machined screws with nuts. The assembly will be simple. Just check.

  • Faraz Noorani October 31, 2016, 4:57 pm

Serious Complain: I came to ikea on Saturday 29 October, your staff firstly put 6 items under delivery. I am sure they know that 6 items cost double that of five items. Anyways when I walked over to the delivery counter they told me that I need to get it amended and go back to the counter and tell them that you will collect 1 items now and get 5 delivered. I went back queued up (bear in mind that on that day there was a lot of rush at ikea Abd I had my Two toddlers waiting on the stroller for me). I went for things changed and then came back in the delivery queue, they said they will deliver on Tuesday and I said ok, they came for delivery on Monday. I was obviously not at home. Please note that when I was in the queue because of the rush I was told its ok you can sign it’s Tuesday delivery. With all the rush I listened to the representative and signed the paper which stated monday. Now I am being asked to pay a penalty of $35 for delivery in Tuesday. I strongly protest that I should not have to be paying the penalty.

I do not believe that anyone can be put on hold fo half an hour . I am furious with IKEA firstly I had to make several phone calls reference my delivery to see where it was and that someone would call me an hour prior to delivery , no phone call, no contact . As delivery was I between 10 and 4 we thought it odd that we hadn’t heard anything by 5 then 6 !!!! After waiting 20 minutes to speak to a totally incompetent person and assured we would be contacted we waited yet again !eventually the delivery arrived at 7pm .
Upon opening the items we have been sent the wrong order . I am sitting here for you he 3 red time today to TRY and speak to someone for some help !!!! I’m due to move into my house before Christmas …….. All I need is some help . Never again will I shop at IKEA

I am writing to you out of sheer desperation that I am unable to get any assistance from Ikea, Cheras, Malaysia.

Ikea Cheras has to get its act together fast. There has been quite a few bad reviews about the branch, and I believe the headoffice in Denmark may not be aware of.

The past Saturday, although I paid for installation and delivery, the driver, who delivered the order, disclaimed otherwise, even when I showed him that the invoice clearly included installation as well, . I called ikea customer service of Ikea, and the representative passed the bug to Yamato (the outsourced delivery entity). Likewise, when I got in touch with Yamato, they pushed the bug to ikea. This kind of attention to addressing the problem has left me in disgust and frustration. I hope that you at the headquarters does not practise the same.

I called a representative named Ukasah yesterday and promised that he would check with his manager and return my call and let me know the solution before the end of yesterday. Not surprising he never called up to now.

I want ikea to be responsible for the delivery as well as the installation as I have paid for that services. Please correct this simple thing from your end as I currently am holding back to go to the media.

It is time for you to reconsider appointing Yamato as the outsourced delivery company. I doubt Yamato is a good outsourced party for your brand as I had to wait for more than an hour to be attended to make the arrangement for the delivery and the installation even when there were just 2 other customers until some of us waiting began to make noise about the waiting time. All of a sudden more crew members started appearing.

I demand Ikea revert urgently and sort out the problem as I have NOT received the products and have the products installed, all of which I had already made the payment for.

For your easy reference, my Sales Order # is 362-S002516

The delivery and installation have to be completed by this Saturday, December 17, as I am travelling over the next 3 months and I don’t think it’s good at all to delay the rectification of the problem. No one thereafter will be able to receive the products and provide instruction to place up the curtains with the tracks.

I can be reached on my mobile phone number 012 2116303

And my email address is francoyong@gmail.com

I await your prompt action and good news.

    Thank you.

We have been trying to contact your Ikea Dubai store for last two weeks. The tel numbers provided are +971 4 203 7555 and 800 4532 but there is nobody to answer customer calls.
We have tried during normal business hours but it seems nobody is attending incoming calls and talk to customers.
    Could you help.

It seems IKEA has decided to use ParcelForce for small online deliveries. I ordered some bedding online, received an estimated date for delivery, followed by a confirmation from ParcelForce that they would deliver on a given date. I stayed in all day. No delivery.

After 18:00 I complained to customer services by online chat. All they could say was that I had to call ParcelForce the next day to sort it out. I refused; they not I have the contract with ParcelForce. The online chat person flat refused to help or to pass me to a supervisor.

Via an internet site I found the email address of Gillian.Drakeford@ikea.com at head office. I complained there and got a reply from Elizabeth.Barnett@IKEA.com “UK & IE Customer Care Specialist”, Phone: 0203 645 0048. She was very sympathetic and said she would look into it.

In the meantime, ParcelForce had texted me the day after the supposed delivery day, giving me 30 minutes notice of delivery. I was in a meeting elsewhere and did not even see the message until too late.

According to Elizabeth.Barnett@IKEA.com, ParcelForce made “several other attempts” to deliver, though they never contacted me in advance of any other alleged attempt, neither did they leave me a card. I don’t believe they came at all.

In the end, IKEA cancelled my order and refunded the money. They gave me £70 in vouchers, but I don’t have a car, so with no means of delivery I don’t see how I can use them. I will have to find somewhere else to buy my bedding for a continental size (IKEA) bed.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Ikea

We despetately need an Ikea in Thanet. i.e. Ramsgate, Broadstairs, or even Dover. Even Canterbury would be good. Ever thought of coming down this way because a lot of people would be very happy.

Dear Sir… far be it for me to advise you of where to build your stores… but Peterborough is the fastest growing town in the whole of Europe and has some amazing business opportunities. Our nearest Ikea is in Milton Keynes and I know it would be a fantastic success for here and the very well off people in the surrounding area’s as many people have moved from London to this area. this is just an idea… choose to do with it… what you wish. Kindest Regards
    Dr Christine Norgate.

Incident Ref150626 @ Croydon  IKEA -Tuesday pm 7/2/2017

I would like to bring to your attention an incident that occurred today  in Croydon  IKEA.

I went to IKEA in Croydon with my mother and daughter with the intention of making a decision about the purchase of a suitable bed for my rising 3 year old daughter.

Unfortunately an incident occurred whereby my daughters knee got trapped in the slats of a BUSUNGE Childs bed whilst we were checking the suitability of the bed for my 3year old.

We thought the BUSUNGE bed was a suitable design in that the bed and mattress could be adjusted to 1/2, 3/4 or full size.

When checking the design of adjustment my daughter who was also involved in the process got her left knee trapped between the fixed wooden slats of the bed whilst  crawling towards the canopy at the head of the bed .

We tried in vain to release her leg and resorted to asking members of your staff to help in this distressing situation.

Initially there was a really helpful male member of staff who found an electric screw driver so a metal plate could be released but  this did not solve the problem of the fixed slats and the trapped leg.

A female member of staff failed to offer any support whatsoever in terms of  releasing the trapped leg, seeking help, supporting the frightened child or the concerned relatives

The original male member of staff and the relatives tried in vain to wrench the slats off the frame but had insufficient strength.

There weren’t any additional tools other than the screw driver available and this poor anxious, frightened toddler could not move her trapped  knee from the slats for what seemed a long time.

Fortunately , a female member of the public was extremely helpful in helping to placate the stressful situation and eventually more members of staff arrived

Ultimately, with all the parts of the mattress removed I managed to unzip my daughters  boot and  eventually we released her knee and the leg emerged from the slats.

The female member of public produced chocolate and one of the IKEA medics issued a ‘magic’ plaster for the red pressure mark- chocolate and magic plasters enabled my daughter to make a quick recovery.

Sadly the adults were not so easily placated and left the store empty handed and completely stressed by the episode.

My concerns regarding this situation are as follows:
1-the design of open fixed slats is poor in terms of children’s limbs potentially getting trapped
2-there were no tools available or knowledge of where tools were stored which could have expedited a quick release of the trapped knee/leg
3-the female member of staff clearly had received insufficient training  and failed to offer any constructive assistance to the situation, child predicament or adults concerns .
4-there was no apparent procedure to follow in an emergency like this

However , on a positive note
1- my daughter emerged virtually unscathed with just red marks around her knee
2- the male member of staff (Ronn?)who found the screwdriver was absolutely delightful and did everything he could to help
3- the senior male member of staff with the Irish name was completely charming
4-Giuseppe was also helpful but appeared to find completing the incident form challenging

I would appreciate your comments regarding this incident and what measures you propose taking to prevent a similar situation occurring in the future.

Recent BBC reports show that IKEA’s deliverymen in various Western European countries are not working under the laws of these countries regarding wages, rest periods, etc. They are being paid by sub-contractors at rates for the poorer countries where the sub-contractors are based, and their working conditions are dismal. They cannot, for example, afford to live and sleep anywhere except by the roadside in their lorries. If IKEA staff are working here, they should work under our labour conditions. You treat the drivers appallingly, jeopardise everyone’s safety on the roads and do this county out of tax revenue which is desperately needed. A driver working here should be paid, and have workig conditions, according to the laws of this country. Shame on you

I have planned our ikea kitchen to incorporate the Ikea DOMSJÖ Sink, to my horror it’s gone from the website as I’m about to order it. I’m not alone..I see others also frantically looking for it as I assume like me they have likely been planning a new kitchen for a while. Surely it hasn’t been dropped, it’s a fantastic product. Please advise what’s happening, otherwise it’s likely I’m not going to purchase an ikea kitchen, as the Ikea DOMSJÖ Sink was the initial pull in deciding to by ikea. Please advise. Ian.

Very disappointed in Ikea systems. My wife and I are both partially disabled and have bought three Patrick chairs in the past because their solid arms give our arthritis very good support. Needed to buy another ne but they are no longer on the web site.
So started with a chat on the web site. Was told that there were three in Newcastle but that it was impossible to buy from a store unless we visited it. In no way can we pay over the internet and have the money credited to the store and the store could not deliver to us anyhow even if we paid extra for delivery.
So tried calling the call centre. Same story more or less. There are 19 Patriks in Reading but they can only be bought in store. The agent I spoke to said he would ask the manager and call me back within an hour. Needless to say I never received a call
So Ikea has what we want but their internal systems are set up so that in some cases disabled people simply cannot buy them. Once they are in the store they cannot be transferred to the web account and money that is taken on the internet cannot be used to buy something in a store.
Not impressed in the least. Unlikely to buy anything from Ikea again.

To whom it may concern: Dear Sir /Madam As a more or less frequent costumer to Ikea alfragide Lisbon, I was very surprise with the way I was treated by one young employee called Joana (she refused to tell me her surname). In Portugal every employee dealing with the public has to have mandatorly a badge with name and employee number. No one in Ikea is wearing one and that´s ilegal. The time we wait for costumer service can be longer then an hour. Anyway that girl Joana saw me trying toget a package from a top shelf and for that I put my feet on top of other packages, so she advise me not do so , wich I agreed.Instead of helping me she come to menace me she will call security, wich I agreed to make her tell me her surname. She was pretty unpleasant to my wife too. I´m a 65 year old man and I don´t go to Ikea to be mistreated. I´m sorry to see Ikea going in this direction, I think the management should be paying attention with the formation of employees. thisgirl should be placed in a fish market not in Ikea. I´m sending you this email because to send here to the portuguese office would be a waist of time. I´m sorry for my poor English but school for me was long time ago

    Dear Sir/Madam

We are member in IKEA sense 1988, Most of my home furniture and kitchen from Ikea Kuwait.

1- After paying for the items and delivery fee and waiting them for nine days, the IKEA delivery team refused to deliver the items to my apartment because it’s located in sixth floor, although it’s not the first time they deliver items to my apartment.
2- I tried to get the delivery and installation manager dept., but he refused to talk to me and solve my problem.
3- I keep complaining over phone but I didn’t get any attention or response, which is not professional.
I Decided to stop buying any items from Ikea Kuwait till they solved my issue.
And I’ll start to do bad feedback about your services and bad dealings with your customers.

    1) I can provide warehousing of over two acres, on monthly rental, on our open land of seven acres, near the KIA Airport, in Bangalore.
This would be ideal for logistics for any company such as your own, I feel..
    2) My warehouse and work-area structures can also be erected and maintained, on monthly rental, at any required venue !
I saw an article in a newspaper that IKEA was looking out for warehousing space, in Bangalore and have written to you.
Please call me on # 9980049594 or email me on bharathsurs@yahoo.in, both, if /not interested.
I have tried, but am unable to contact the right person on phone /email here, so unable to understand whether or not, you require my services.
    Awaiting your reply,

I’ve had an idea which could benefit IKEA in all of your stores.
It is about enhancing your brand name within the stores you run and I would like to meet with one of your marketing executives to discuss what could be a beneficial venture for both yourselves and my own company.

Today I bought the 3 seat sofa Delaktig which will be delivered tomorrow.

My question is will there ever be a ‘backrest extender’ produced as on the Vinle 3 seat sofa. This would make the Delaktig more customisable and make for a wonderful addition.
