I took an 81year old lady shopping to your new store in Hinckley and it cost me £30! I have shopped with Sainsbury’s by car for many years without a problem – but apparently this new store applies charges. I used her car (as it never gets used) and so she got the fine. I read the sign when I parked but naively believed someone who said that it was 3 hours for shoppers. We were there for 2 and a half hours, and she is distraught! not so much the money but for doing wrong (I feel really bad for turning what was a treat into a worry for her) She phoned the parking people who told her to pay it straight away and they would only charge £30 instead of £60.
Can you look at this sympathetically please? Her name is Mrs A Baker 17 Doctors Fields Earl Shilton Leicestershire LE9 7HN
I know that she will have sent the cheque already – but I will be buying her lunch or something to compensate the cost and the distress.

My wife and I first sent in our signed applications for Sainsbury’s credit cards on 11 June ’16. We bank with Barclays and had gone to the Woolwich (where we live) branch to get certified copies of our passports and address evidence. I then received a letter from you dated 20 June, returning our evidence and stating that “our new business team … will respond within the next 7 -10 working days.” We heard nothing from them, however, we did receive 2 or 3 letters headed “Your … credit card is just a step away!” inviting us to apply again. Eventually, I called your help line and was told that Barclays had not put a stamp identifying themselves when they certified our documents and that when we signed the agreement we had put the date outside, rather then inside the box. Consequently we would have to reapply. This time we when to Barclays in Stratford and checked that they included a ‘Barclays’ stamp, etc.. We sent in our second signed application 30 June. Again, we received a letter from you dated 5 July, returning our evidence and stating that “our new business team … will respond within the next 7 -10 working days.” Then we received a letter dated 7 July stating that you had not received our “signed signature”. I called your helpline and, after some investigation, was told (without an apology) that no, in fact you now had everything you needed to issue our cards and that we would receive them within 10 working days. I’ve now just received a letter from you, dated 14 July and stating that “we require one original Proof of your address”. Rather than calling you helpline again, I’ve written this account and would like you to send me in writing that you now have everything you need, or exactly what more we need to do.

I have asked at your stores and they say they have not heard of it, but I believe you still make it. My nearest store is Sainsbury Huntingdon Cambs, also one in cambridge. Would be so greatful as nothing else seems to come up to it.

A couple of months ago I contacted you regarding VEGAN CHEESE, which Tesco had introduced, and you had not. This particular brand is VIOLIFE, although there are of course others. Then two weeks ago I found an empty Violife package on the shelf, but it was empty. The same last week. So the cheese is obviously popular, especially since veganism is getting more popular, and I would suggest that a larger quantity is ordered. Yesterday, when I went to do my shop, I discovered three Violife packets left. These were sliced, which are quite nice, but I would like the solid packs, which are suitable for grating over pasta, etc. Could you organise both types, and I’m sure that they will sell. Also, a wider range of vegan items would be appreciated.

Am so disgusted with your dalston store. A member of your staff who has done over 25 years with the said store has been off sick for a long time, coming up to a year without so much as a phone call, get well card or a collection being taken up for her,she has copd and leukaemia but all the store is bothered about is her returning to work not her health, yet any other member of staff off sick gets all of it,I think it’s about time that sainsburys at least send her something to show that she is Infact a very valuable member of staff who is indeed missed and respected. And a phone call wouldn’t go amiss either…..does 25 years loyal service to the same store and company mean absolutely nothing. If sainsburys had any respect for such a loyal member of staff I suggest something should be done especially by the store, her name is Mrs jean O’Sullivan.

Never been so disgusted. My 18 year old son applied for a job at your Etherstone Avenue store (incidentally, my daughter works there and we shop there all the time living just across the road). He received an email asking him to ring to arrange an interview THEN received another email telling him his application wasn’t being processed further. Why mess young people around like this? I would love an explanation and soon if you don’t mind.

Dear Sir. As a customer of many years at the Pitwines Poole store I really would like to know why it is they have stopped baking multi seed bread in long tins. I know they have the tins as they bake white bread in that shape. I and other customers that I know of really prefer that shape for several reasons so please tell me why we can’t still have it. Surely if you want to keep your customers happy and shopping at your stores you would take notice of our requests. I have been having long tin multi seed loaves for years now so why the big problem now? Eagerly awaiting your reply and a return to getting back to being able to buy exactly what I need or I feel I may be shopping elsewhere.

I am very angry that the Blue Cross has had to leave their shop in Royal Wootton Bassett. I am told that Costa wanted it so you made Blue Cross charity leave. As Costa will pay more rent this pure greed and I will not be shopping in Sainsburys again. Lots of people are talking about this in RWB , you should be ashamed.

    Hello,

I have previously informed yourselves of the Parking problems especially the parking allocated for the disabled customers that frequent your Store on the Oxford Road Sainsbury Store here in Swindon, Wiltshire.
It is impossible to get the security to understand the concern and without any offence, they prefer to sit down on the job watching the CCTV or wandering off when summoned.
I believe that the Manager/manageress at the time of my first Email had been notified of my concern [as one staff member stated she would inform him/her]
It is most appreciated that you have allowed parking for the disabled and also for family parking. The bays are well marked and with notices on them.
On my latest visit to shop at the store, I found myself driving around to find a parking space, I noticed, after being informed by another disabled person, that the bays were taken by just about everyone, including the family parking bays. The bays even had builders vans, light trucks and other vehicles not showing a blue badge which is only right they should to have the privilege to park there.
The other disabled person drove off, possibly to shop elsewhere. I nearly did, but a builders van reversed out and I was fortunate to be able to use the bay for it’s intended purpose.
I spoke to one of the staff who was having a break and she replied ” I have been with this company for seven years and not once have I seen the parking people/services”
Thinking about it, I have never seen anyone either over the years I have used the place to do shopping.
My question is……you are paying a company to help oversee the parking and they are never there? If you are unaware of this, then please let me make a suggestion. Without any prior warning, can someone observe this ghost parking company and see for yourselves that it is non existent? You may be surprised that it is also used for ‘Football’ fans to park. They can catch the bus outside which will take them nearer to the football grounds so they get ‘free parking’ courtesy of yourselves.
It has also been noted that several ‘blue badge’ holders are using the bays illegally by using someone else’s badge. On the serial numbers, the ‘X’ determine the badge belongs to a Male and the ‘Y’ denotes a female. It is obvious when a male gets out of a vehicle and the badge has a ‘Y’ in the serial number.
Pointing this out on occasions, I am told to f**k off, I get threatened and that’s not counting other things I am shouted at by these ( I will say ) offensive and just downright inconsiderate people.
I use a trolley as a support to shop, albeit, I am really slow, but it helps me and if it gets too much, I sit on one of the benches outside and the wife finishes the shopping for us.
It is hoped that you may take the time and look into this concern.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email.

    Ken

I’m so very disappointed in the way the staff at your Sandown Isle of Wight branch treated my son.He was pushing his scooter into the shop to leave by the window out of the way, when a staff member shouted at him to leave it Outside. Which he then did,and in the 5-10 minutes he was in the shop his scooter was stolen. To say he was upset is an understatement, he saved up for ages to buy his stunt scooter. He cried himself to sleep last night.i just am so disappointed in the staff and disgusted at how rude they were to my 12yr old

I am disgusted in the way I have been treated at you Warren heath Ipswich store. I have been a registered baker for numerous years and recently purchased baking ingredients to the value of £34,after baking numerous cakes and throwing each and every one away as they were inedible contacted Sainsbury’s through facebook.I was told £10 had been put onto my nectar card,as you can imagine I was very insulted by this so was then told I would be given another £5,when I complained again this then went up to £19. I am very angry as it wasn’t just the £34 loss but also a whole wasted day baking which put me behind with my orders. I’ve not had a problem with my usual supplier and when I used their products the following day my cakes were baking fine once again. Apart from the baking ingredients I shop with you every Saturday and have done so for the past 25 years. This whole incident has left me most upset, please advise.

    To Whom it may concern,

I am sorry for the las minute nature of this request I sent an email a few weeks ago but I have only just learnt that it never sent.

In the summer a group of 18 students from the University of St Andrews and myself are climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in aid of Childreach International, which is a child’s rights charity. The charity has projects all over the world with particular focus on a current project in Napal to stop child trafficking through education. The charity focuses on sustainability. This means that not only does the charity make a difference to children lives now, they have helped children in the future. One particular project that shows this sustainability is a project in Tanzania where a farm was built at a school and taught the teachers how to maintain the crops in order to ensure that all the children attending the school receive one hot meal a day. Thanks to this project school attendance has gone up to 90% and so not only delivering invaluable nutrition to the children but also invaluable information to help them progress in the future. As you can see this is a worthwhile charity and it would be amazing if you could help me help them.

I was wondering if there was any possibility that I, along with 5 volunteers could do a bag pack at your store on the 19th or the 20th of December. I know this is a busy time of year for you but this charity and the children its helps are in desperate need of you and your customers help. At least 50% of the proceeds made go directly to the charity and the rest will go on the cost of the trip however any money not spent on the trip will go straight to the charity.

    Many thanks for your consideration,

    Yours Sincerely,
    Camilla

I was made aware by my daughter-in-law and sister-in-law about how they have been getting nectar bonus points along with a gift box for Christmas along with money off vouchers.
I have been shopping at Sainsbury’s for many years now and I feel offended by the fact that all customers are not treated equally I have not received anything like my relations and l feel that I am being used by your company to the detriment of myself for other customers to benefit.
If you cannot treat customers equally then don’t give anything to any customer and the treatment also resolutes in the shop where some customers receive vouchers and others not.
To my mind this is unfair treatment and a disgraceful way to treat customers I certainly am looking to shop elsewhere, where they value all customers alike unlike yourselves.

I am a long term customer with Sainsbury’s for many years. I have a nectar card xxxx303017 account. There was an offer in December 2016 for, after four (4) shoppings over £30 I will get 1500 bonus points.
Two years ago it went on the card automatically and expected the same thing to happen this year. I was give a coupon with 1500 points but did not bother to look at it then.
    When I did look at it, it was out of date and could not retrieve my points;
Why after one earn their points there had to be an expiry date on the coupon? why could it be automatic as it had been at first?
Also I was given a coupon that couldn’t be scanned after I did my shopping and lost my points.
As a long term customer I am very disappointed that Sainsbury’s has became mindless about their customers, only concentrating on insatiable greed to expand and fill individuals pockets.
Where is the Christianity that this Company was made from?
    Very scary!

I shop in Sainsbury’s Bangor Co Down every week. This week I enquired if Dr Schär’s seeded loaf was available for purchase only to be informed that “it wasn’t on our list” therefore not available. I am coeliac and rely very much on gluten free products. Is there any way it can be carried? Both Tesco and Asda carry this product but I really don’t wish to visit these supermarkets for only one product. I look forward to your reply.

I was verbally abused on 31st of December 2016 by a sainsburys employee.
He hovered over me like he was going to beat me up and intimidated me and raised his voice at me.

I did mention it to the manager including what caused the issue and another member of staff representing himself as the store manager when he could not deal with the situation.

I told the manager that I would be getting in touch with head office but when I contacted customer services they said that the only person that can resolve this issue is the store manager.

I am not confident in the store manager if his store can be left to breach health and safety regulations, have staff that threaten members of the public and customers, and staff that claim to be store managers when really they are not or cannot deal with the issues at hand.

Please can you advise how to resolve this issue as it is becoming ridiculous now.

    Many thanks

Yorkshire tea bags. Cheaper at B&M.
Lloyd Grossman sauces. Cheaper at Asda.
Sissler frying steak. Cheaper at Morrisons.
Own brand tinned corned beef. Cheaper at Aldi.

There are more that I can’t think of. As you can see you are becoming uncompetative.

    Regards.

The Penrith store car park is being used by youths as a play area,
Riding around vehicles on scooters and obstructing some disabled parking bays , they are usually in groups of half a dozen.
I don’t feel confident in using your store car park ,so of course will take my business elsewhere.

My name is Mr Johnny Gill,

    76 Jarrow Road, RM6 5RL

Unfortunately I’m writing to you to complain about your security guard at the Beckton Triangle Sainsbury’s on 24/02/2017 at 09:40.

Today I was on my break I was driving since 04:30 my break started 09:37, I’m a bus driver of the 325 service, I have been driving this route for 8years I have a brilliant relationship with some of your customers and staff that use the service to shop and work at Sainsbury’s.

I have been using your facilities for more then 15 years for work also for my family shopping. For the past 2-3 years your gents toilets have been dealing with problems, at times they have been closed off to the customers, never have I complained these things occur.

I’m writing to you to seek help and closure the situation your security guard enforced his job role against me.

The gents toilet was over flowing (urinal/toilet) also there was such a bad smell and heat, For this reason I had to use the baby changing room facility to have my toilet relief, the security guard was doing his checks, he started shouting telling me off straight away, without asking me the reason for me going in there. I had explained the situation of the gents toilets, He still spoke down to me. Made me feel little. He had no humanity or customer care for my welfare! The customer experience, also my break was destroyed by the security guards treatment!

I spoke to the customer service at Sainsbury’s I told them about the situation, they did not mind or question me for having my toilet relief in the baby’s changing room facility. Yet the security guard used his authority to over power me!!!

I have been coming to your branch in Beckton for over 15 years, never have I had any problem with your service until today’s unnecessary dilemma your security guard forced me into

I look forward hearing from you to relief the embarrassment I was put in to. Thanks

I used self the service till yesterday morning just for a few necessities, & the bloody thing charged me twice for the same shopping within 60 seconds, so as a result i couldn’t pay my rent therefore i defaulted & as such i get charged, having now defaulted twice my flat is at risk, so of course i reported the over payment to the store (Dog Kennel Hill Dulwich) by phone (all my calls are recorded) after checking my bank account & was given firm assurances that if i brought my receipt & system ref no’s from my bank it would be handled in a professional manner & immediately ameliorated which of course i took to be entirely axiomatic expecting a high quality of customer care as has been the case in the past, so having arrived at the store i making the person responsible aware of my issue i am then immediately treated very poorly as if i were a criminal on a scam despite having everything required being told that it’s up to me that they have no responsibility!!!! that i have to get a statement which will take 7 days after which they’ll consider it, seriously is that anyway to purport yourselves when a customer behaves within good faith & it’s your cock up in the first place? now not only do i require a refund i demand to be compensated for the inconvenience & distress, as i refuse to be held responsible for this systems cock up or to be treated in such a tawdry & disrespectful manner, i feel i must inform the industry regulator such as the CMA, the retail ombudsman amongst others, should i suffer the lose my flat over this incompetence i will have no other option as to instruct legal council and make it public so that other potential customers are aware.

Why has the greengrocery dept. at Sainsbury’s store at Stanway, Essex become so shabby, shelves left half empty, poor quality fruit left on display, and pre-packed produce sell by dates mixed up. Last month I returned to the store packs of avocado pears which were still in date but on cutting open found to be rotten inside, celery returned again still in use by date but going rotten because it was packed soaking wet. Although it means I loose Nectar points I’m now buying most of my fruit and veg from Lidl or Aldi.

I was appalled to read that Sainsbury’s had removed from their shelves, Easter Eggs which contained the true Christian message about the meaning of Easter. Apparently some idiot in your organisation was worried about offending non Christians. However, you found yourselves able to stock Halal eggs. Well, you have offended me and 1,000s of other Christians in a Christian country, loyal patrons over many decades who will hold our noses while passing your establishments in future. I am not a churchgoer but find myself disgusted with this fawning PC attitude. I have many moslem friends and colleagues who have never taken any offence to Christian values. You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves and the bozo who thought this up should be sacked as should be the “manager” who sanctioned it.

I have not received any reply.

The potatoes have hollow centres with black rot, not nice at all when baked. Please send me replacement cost, so that I can rplace them when I return from France. I have taken photes which I can send to you upon my return, or present them to the store manager. I have thrown the potates away.

Why is your March branch charging £2.60 for a large box of seeded wheat? Tesco and waitrose price is £2.16. I await your reply

    Good morning

We are looking to do a charity event for our friend and colleague Dawn Marie Wilson who has been told that she is terminally ill with cancer.

We are holding a quiz night and raffle in Cilfynydd Rugby club on 12th May 2017 and was wondering if there was any way that you could help us by donating a raffle prize please.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this email, it is greatly appreciated.

    Regards

Please can you confirm whether rumours are correct that Sainsburys in Trowbridge Wiltshire is being taken over by Morrisons. It will be a sad day if it is.

Crayford Saintsbury’s store had a fox trapped in a cage then shoot? Instead of releasing it back into the wild! foxes hunt vermin and keep mice and rats at bay, i would like to know if Saintsbury’s policy is to kill innocent animals??

I tried to buy my granddaughter a collectors catalogue today and was unsuccessful. She was devistated and I would love to know why she had to be dissapointed. You have vastly underestimated the way that these lego collectors cards would take off and I wonder how many other children like my granddaughter have been so dissapointed. Please reply to this email

I’m deeply angry at sainsburys murdering three foxes at its crayford site.contarary to the wishes of many of the general public animal lovers.when humane alternatives could of been found at the time .in view of sainsbury claiming to be enviromentally ethical.animal welfare conservation mind.this is a utter disgrace.and very hypercritical on sainsburys part.I demand a enquirey into this serious issue.and quick email back.I shall not be buying any health consiace products.or vegan .vegetarian products from sainsburys stores till they see someone is reprimanded severely for killing these three foxes cruely at the crayford sainsburys site.this animal cruelty is unforgivable.
